You will report to the Value Stream Resource Manager, and will have an onsite work schedule in Christiansburg, VA. This position is for our 3rd shift.Job Summary/Responsibilities:* Solve process, equipment, and tooling problems* Complete machining operations with planning/prints* Inspect dimensions per print* Demonstrates skill in tooling design and improvements to existing tooling* Verify work completed meets requirements of blueprints, standards and work instructions* Complete paperwork accurately and legibly* Operate lathe, mill, shear, vice, tapping machine (manual and power), and understand different styles and types of taps and dies (metric and standard)* Operate various types of power hand tools, grinders, drills, belt sanders, and disc sanders, sand and bead blasters* Operate and understand power band saw, cut off saw, proper selection of speeds, feeds, tooth size, blade welding, guide setting, and blade replacement* Cleaning assembly and various other tasks as required and ability to verify work completed meets requirements of blueprints, standards and work instructions* Knowledge of documentation requirements related to manufacturing and quality of hardware.* Participate in Continuous Improvement Process.* Assist in training /cross-training of others* Work with minimal supervision* Perform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:* Minimum one-year machine shop vocational school or equivalent degree, plus 14 years of Machining experience* Proficient with manual and or CNC machines - capable of setting up machines with a general knowledge of speeds and feeds for lathes and mills.* Proficient in GD&T* To be proficient in general math (use of fractions, decimals, simple formulas and charts and right-angle trigonometry)* Knowledge of documentation requirements related to manufacturing and quality of hardware* To be able to lift at least 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.Preferred Qualifications:* Completion of Apprentice program, plus 6 years of directly related Machinist experienceOur Benefits:* Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits on day one* Flexible planned vacation* 401K, profit share, and employee stock purchase option* Tuition reimbursem*nt program* Inclusive company culture* Onsite wellness center and pharmacy* Flexible 3rd shift schedulesSalary Range:* $22.00 - $26.00 (plus shift differential) based on education, experience, and skill setThis position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.Pay Disclaimer:The base pay range represents the low and high end of the Moog pay range or indicates the hourly rate for this position in the given work location.
