Amazing Time on the Breakaway
"
We took an Uber from the hotel to the port and arrived in 20 mins, dropped our bags, showed our negative rapid test results and vaccine cards, headed through security, and went straight to a check-in desk with no wait time. The pool deck was the worse, with hardly any space for sun loungers, a closed-off area for smokers right in the middle of the deck, and for some reason, they have built a large structure in the middle of the deck between the adults and kids pools called the marketplace which serves no purpose.

This was a first-time cruise for myself and our teenager, but my husband had been on a small cruise almost 40 years ago. Telling the good and the bad equates to a well written review. So, I will get the GOOD out of the way up front and provide as many details as possible. The Breakaway is a lovely ship and we noted care was taken to keep the ship clean and maintained. General staff (excluding

Feedback on our stay in the Haven on the Breakaway-The people that were working in the restaurant, bar and housekeeping were topnotch; with one exception our butler was mediocre at best (very different than the one we had on the Sky in October).-The Haven is definitely not mobility-challenged-people friendly. We were staying on deck 15 the normal way to deck 16, where the bar and the

We were so disappointed with this cruise. We had gone on the Breakaway years ago and enjoyed it. We also, more recently, went on the Joy and absolutely loved it. However, Norwegian has been cutting corners especially regarding entertainment and it is very apparent. We miss the Broadway shows. Also, there is not a lot of variety regarding entertainment. Although the two comedians were good,

From day one there were issues. I had thoroughly researched the Breakaway’s balcony cabins and amenities provided. There was no coffee maker or ice buckets. I had to request these items. We are long time cruisers with NCL. The ship is definitely showing a lot of wear and tear all over the ship. We were a large family (10) and tried to makes dinner reservations online before the cruise to no avail.

We started off with a port already cancelled-- Tortola. The reason was ridiculous that we were given. We wanted to cancel but we were told that NCL can cancel ports if needed. BUT with a bit of research it looks like NCL was doing work on one of the engines. They had mechanical issues with the ship and we could not cancel-- Which means a slow moving ship. Our St. Thomas port time was delayed so

First off we booked the Eastern Caribbean cruise to not go to the same places. Due to the dates this cruise fit the bill when we booked it back in Feb. come x thirty days before the cruise NCL said because of fuel economy and prices they took out BVI Tortola port and added a sea day at 4 kts all the way back to our last stop of Exuma private island. No breeze on boat it’s horrible on any sundeck.

We just got off the Breakaway and here are my thoughts. The pool deck closes at 730 PM, they literally strap the chairs on top of each other so that there is no place to sit and enjoy the evening on deck at night. They also close the bars on deck at 8PM forcing you to go to the casino or the atrium. The food was mediocre at best. The service and customer service was terrible. I paidd $199.00 X two

This was our second sailing on The Breakaway. We were disappointed. The main dining rooms all had the same menu each night. So you couldn’t switch to another one since it was the same menu. The specialty restaurants were excellent. They had only one show at night Burn The Floor for the 1st two nights and then comedians that were ok for the rest of the entertainment. Deal or No Deal is

First, a caveat: I was impacted by a UTI for most of this cruise, but I’ve tried not to let that influence ay opinion here. So here goes: May, 2024 / NCL Breakaway. We were a group of 17 and one of the reasons for this cruise was to scatter the ashes of a friend, and that was done respectfully and tastefully with the help of the cruise staff. That was nice. Lack of food options is impressive. They don’t even have a pizza place. Becomes a food dessert at 9 pm. Only options in a “late night” restaurant include: sauerkraut, chili as a meal, and hot dog. Not even chicken fingers or pizza. Only things will make your gut feel worse than it already does from whatever hospital like food you ate earlier. Large portion of casinos slot machines don’t work
